Chapter 1: Autumn's Beauti Mark
“‘Alenania is the land of beauty. The land of peace, harmony and grace,’” read a monotonous female voice over the loudspeaker. Mia Angelle sighed. Sitting at her desk, she turned to look at her best friend Autumn, making a face at her. Stifling her giggles, Mia watched as Autumn made an “I-sooo-don’t-want-to-be-here-right-now” face back. The announcement continued the age-old pledge of the country. “‘May all who enter the lands of Alenania find peace, harmony and grace. May they find their true selves, through their beauti marks and throughout life. May we live everyday fully, as it is the first day of the rest of our lives.’” “Aleigh!” chanted Mia and Autumn, clomping their front right hoof against the school’s wooden floor with the rest of the student population. The final pledge before morning announcements came on. It was the date, and pledge of the academy. “Today is September 22nd, 2012. Let us announce the pledge of our school. 'May pegasi and unicorns alike learn and grow everyday at Mount Excel School. For it is known that they are the truly gifted ones, and the ones whom are truly meant to excel.’” Mia and Autumn, along with the rest of their friends and fellow students, attended Mount Excel School. The school’s main belief was that unicorns and pegasi were the only ones truly fit to be educated for their abilities, since they possessed powers that Ponies of the Earthen of Alenania could not. It was quite a beautiful school though, huge, and resting on the very top of an extremely high hill. The school covered Acedemical Years 7th through 12th, and in the back was a beautiful waterfall emptying in a huge pool and countless streams, perfect for swimming and splashing in on hot days. It housed countless other incredible things, even including an entire wing for those with art talents, acres and forests for those with animal and nature talents, and even high above was a place nearly the size of the school for the pegasi to train. But for Mia and everyone else, this beauty and happiness was expected. It wasn’t that it was taken for granted; all the ponies, even the Earthen ones, appreciated the beauty that seemed to be ever-present in Empress Alena’s great lands. Of course it wasn’t perfect; it still rained, and bad things still happened. It was just that so many things were so beautiful in this world.
The morning announcements finially came to a close. Mia turned to Autumn. “Hey, what do you have first? I don’t know where my schedule…” she stopped there, staring at her friend. Autumn was bouncing up and down, her dark red hair bobbing, and a huge smile on her face. Weird, she thought. Autumn is never this excited in the morning, and neither am I. She gave Autumn a closer look, to see if anything was wrong with her. Nothing was out of the ordinary, except for the fact that she was wearing a new green miniskirt that matched her eyes perfectly. “Hey, cute skirt! Where’d you get it?” Mia asked, hoping to distract her friend from her weird behavior. Seeming to get her energy under control, Autumn finally spoke. “You totally won’t believe what happened! So, you know how my beauti mark was taking a little while to come? Well-” “Oh, please,” a sarcastic voice interrupted. Mia and Autumn turned to a unicorn sitting behind them. Not just any unicorn, but Blizzard Blitz, with her green pegagsus crony, Vine-essa. “What do you want, Blizzard?” Autumn snapped. “Didn’t you learn your lesson the last time you tried giving me or one of my friends attitude?!” Mia inwardly flinched. The only other time Blizzard Blitz had tried to get at her or any of her friends with her attitude was when she sarcastically called Mia a ‘Donkey-whore’ when she stole Blizzard’s old crush. It was their third year at the academy, year 8, and she and everypony else had been 13. Actually, it was a year ago, but Mia remembered it quite well. Blizzard had been watching Mia and her friend Bree flirt with Clouderick during Pre-Biology, who was one of the hottest pegasi in their class. Afterwards, Blizzard stormed up to Mia and spat ‘You’re such a donkey-whore!’ into her face, while Vine-Essa snickered. Mia had, of course, defended herself and then told Blizzard to get lost. But then she and Bree told Autumn what happened, and as a result, Autumn had spread quite a few rumors about Blizzard Blitz and Vine-Essa. She totally deserved it and Vine-Essa was always rude too, but Mia had felt pretty bad about it. “Whatever,” Blizzard shot back with a smirk on her face. “At least I have my beauti mark! Like everyone else, I got mine a year ago. You’re the only one in the class that doesn’t have theirs, Autumn. Is that why you’re wearing that stupid skirt?” As Vine-Essa smirked, a huge smile broke across Autumn’s face. “No, this is why!” Mia gasped as Autumn pulled off her skirt. On her usually blank flank was a beautiful leaf, bright orangey-red, with green veins inside of it. Blizzard’s mouth fell open, and so did everypony’s else’s who saw it.

Chapter 2: Agua Waves
“No way!” Mia squealed. “You finally got it! Oh my gawd, Autumn, it’s beautiful.” “Thanks!” Autumn said happily. Then she turned to Vine-Essa and Blizzard Blitz, who were still gaping. “Well Blizzard, what do you think of my beauti mark?” When she got no response from her, Autumn turned to Vine-Essa. By now a small crowd had formed around Autumn and her new beauti mark, which gave her a little too much confidence. “Oh look, Vine-Essa!” she started, looking at the green, leafy vines on the pegasus' flank. “Both of our beauti marks have something to do with nature! How nice. Mine’s a gorgeous autumn leaf, and yours is… well…” Vine-Essa raised her eyebrows. “It’s seems like very nice,” Autumn continued, “Poison ivy, is it? Like that awful, greasy plant that makes ponies break out in rashes? How original!” Even Mia had to laugh along with the rest of the class. It was great to finally see those bratty girls get humiliated!
